Open Lab Sessions

Need help with a spreadsheet, presentation or your website? Bring a project you're working on or software questions to MLC 243 on the following days and times. No sign-up necessary for Open Lab.

Microsoft Office Workshops (Desktop Version)

The following workshops are taught on the desktop version of Microsoft Office (2011 for Mac and 2013 for PC)

Office Drawing Tools - Power User Tips
Whether you're making flyers, flow charts or want to create a visually-pleasing infograph, there's no need to struggle with the tools available in Microsoft Office. Discover the advanced capabilities of the Drawing Tools available in Word and PowerPoint. Learn shortcut keys to speed up your process. See sample of a flyer quickly made in PowerPoint using Drawing Tools.

Creating a Student-Centered Syllabus
Learn the pedagogy behind creating a student-centered syllabus along with the necessary skills in Word to create an engaging document for your students.

Gradesheets in Excel
Learn how to effectively design a gradesheet based off your downloaded class list from Active Roster. We'll explore how to automate some tasks, along with formulas necessary for a weighted grading system.

Creating Interactive PowerPoint Presentations
Explore how to enhance your presentations by creating action buttons. A great way to share your presentations with an audience where they can control how they receive and view the material.

Collaboration with Office 365

Interested in being able to collaborate and share documents with coworkers? Sign up for this workshop and learn the ins and outs of online collaboration with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Online.

Microsoft Sway

As part of the Office 365 Suite, Sway offers you the ability to share graphically-pleasing information online. Great for presentations, lectures, tutorials and more. Some features are similar to PowerPoint, but you can build better interactivity, embed YouTube videos, and create richer presentations. Join us and learn the basics of this powerful tool.
