Our learners grew 22% in writing from Quarter 1 to Quarter 2.
Our Math Goal: 80% Met or Advance on each Power Standard
- 81% of all students have scored Met or Advanced on all our priority standards for the Second quarter!
The Leader in Me, 5th Grade!
In 5th Grade, we believe that all students are leaders. Through the 7 Habits, we are working unleash the potential of greatness in each and every student. This quarter we focused on Habit 3: Put First Things First and Habit 4: Think Win-Win.
During our Habit 3 lesson, we spent time in our own classrooms creating our Mission Statement displays. Each class had such unique ideas for displaying their Mission Statements!!
During our Habit 4 lesson students worked with their buddies to solve a problem. Students were given specific resources they could use. They had to develop a plan to get a missing present (a soft peppermint) off the desk onto the floor without touching it with their hands! Once students each had a plan...they had to throw both plans out and come up with a third alternative (Think Win-Win).
You also have been receiving your child's leadership binder. A couple of things to note in their binder is that they have included their goals and their graded tests. Students are excited to see how they have improved on their tests after Tiger Time!
