What was the change?
Starting in the mid-1500's, in which the study of the natural world began to be characterized by careful observation, and the questioning of accepted beliefs.
Who were the people associated with the change?
Galileo Galilei
He was known better as the man of astronomy, because he made one of the primary instruments, still used today, called the telescope.
Nicolaus Copernicus
Copernicus predicted that the sun was in the center of the universe and the Earth revolved around it. In order for people to believe him, he proved it by creating a heliocentric model.
Isaac Newton
Since Galileo's telescope could only be viewed upside down, Sir Isaac Newton fixed the problem using a mirror and ultimately created the first reflecting telescope.
How did the change impact society at the time?
It helped other scientist, or astronomers, view outer space a whole lot better, and also, people had wanted the telescope for the same reason, therefore, it sold out quickly.
How is that change evidenced in today's modern society?
Today, It also helps the astronomers, but thanks to Kepler and advocated by Scheiner, The telescope now has better lenses and color.
