What's the Buzz?!?

A look ahead...
What a great week! I have received a number of emails this past week from parents who are so happy to see all that is going on at St. Francis! Kudos to all of you for taking all that we have talked about from Rick Wormeli to Marzano and applying it in the classrooms. These steps that we are taking are showing our investment to our students and commitment to best practices- KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
- Please remember that all classroom teachers and specials teachers will gather for our first faculty meeting tomorrow from 3:30-4:30 in the Upper Room. We will begin with a presentation on blood borne pathogens and then break off into PD teams.
- This week we will begin to utilize only the Google Form for lunch counts. If you are having any trouble with this at all please let me know ASAP.
- Thanks for your diligence on the playground this week- it is important that we continually remind our students that the safest place to play is the grassy area.
- Please send down all of your Emergency Medical Forms that you have collected first thing tomorrow morning. Please also send a list of the students who are still missing those. Those students will not be able to attend classes tomorrow with out their form.
- We will celebrate Mass this week on Thursday instead of our regularly scheduled Friday time. Mass will still begin at 9:00am. We will maintain our regular Thursday lunch/recess schedule as well as our normal Friday schedule. Please work with your team to mold your Thursday and Friday schedule to fit this change. My recommendation is that your replace your core class on Thursday morning with Mass and that your Thursday afternoon Religion class becomes the core class from that morning. Friday, where Mass normally takes place, you can do a special activity with your students- en extended lab, a writing workshop, etc.
5 Minutes for Faith
I love this quote from Mother Teresa and thought it was a perfect reflection piece on the weekend of her canonization. Fr. Bline said it perfectly when he said you never know what others are going through. So, be yourself, find joy, be honest, and do good- and remember that everyone else is trying to find the best version of themselves too.
