Ripon Cathedral School Update
Week ending Friday 10th September 2021
Welcome Back
Welcome Back
Dear Parents and Carers
We have had a great first week back at school. I have been so impressed with how well the children have settled back into their routines and how they are engaging with their learning. As you can see from the pictures above, the children are enjoying being back with their friends.
COVID in our locality
COVID cases are above average in the Harrogate District, therefore in school we are continuing to be cautious and maintain systems to minimise risk to all members of our school family. We do ask that if anyone in your family displays symptoms, however mild, that they do access a PCR test and do not attend school. It is very important that all families notify school of test results when they receive confirmation of a negative or positive outcome.
We did receive updated guidance from the Local Authority at the start of this week and have therefore reviewed our school risk assessment and overview for parents which can be accessed by clicking on the link below.
OVERVIEW OF MEASURES SEPTEMBER 2021
NHS Test and Trace
A key operational difference this academic year is that the children do not have to isolate if they are a close contact with someone who has COVID. The responsibility for notifying close contacts is through NHS Test and Trace, therefore, in line with guidance, school will not be notifying families about cases through email and text as we did last year.
When school is contacted by Test and Trace we are able to provide data in line with the COVID privacy notice that is published on our school website. NHS Test and Trace will then contact families directly to inform them of a close contact and inform them of how they can access a PCR test.
Many thanks for your ongoing support.
Kind regards
Steven Holmes

Mrs Rich's Great North Run Fundraiser for Ripon Community Link
Yorkshire Air Ambulance were absolutely thrilled and overwhelmed by the amazing total amount we were able to send them at the end of last term when the children did their own sponsored run. Thank you so much, what a great community we have!
A warm welcome to Mrs Linkins
This week she has really enjoyed spending time with her new class and I am sure everyone in our school family will get to know her over the next term.
Getting off to a great start
They have been so good that Mrs Roberts decided that they should all be stars of the week! Keep up the fabulous effort Reception.
Stars of the Week
At our Celebration Worship every Friday, we really enjoy 'zooming' around the classes to hear about the fabulous work and effort of our stars of the week.

Year 5

Year 6
Lily for her fantastic reflection in mathematics!
Well done to all our stars!
Oscar's Club
Our holiday club was very successful, with well over 20 children in both weeks and mostly sunny weather for them to enjoy. Whilst we don't have our holiday dates for this year finalised, we can confirm that the club will not take place in the half term break but we are optimistic about holding a Christmas club.
We are finding that the breakfast and after school clubs are busier than ever now that parents are returning to work away from the home. However, we still have room so do make sure you are set up on the booking site so that you can arrange any childcare needs.
Please contact Mrs Rich in the office if you have any questions or experience issues logging on.
Getting Cracking on Coding
School Meals
The link below will take you to further information about school lunches and to the menu for this half term.
KS2 meals cost £2.35 and Nursery meals £1.90 and are paid for on ParentPay. Please contact rbingham@riponcathedral.n-yorks.sch.uk if you have any queries about school lunches, thank you. Mrs Bingham would also appreciate it if parents could inform her by email of the pattern of school lunches their children will be taking if they do not intend to have lunch everyday.
