New Digital Citizenship Course
The library has published a new Digital Citizenship Canvas Course for advisory students
What: this is a Canvas course on the topic of Digital Citizenship with four modules dedicated to: Netiquette, Cyberbullying, Online Safety and Privacy & Security.
When: the course may be started at any time. Students will be expected to complete all of the tasks including discussion boards, assignments and quizzes. Advisory teachers will grant participation credit to count towards the citizenship grade in advisory class.
Where: for further information and to access the course, contact the Librarian
How: the Librarian will facilitate the course, there will be no work for Advisory teachers. Teachers only need to provide time for students to work on the course in class. The course is asynchronous. Students will work at their own pace given a specific period of time. There may be up to two face-to-face meetings where the Librarian will meet with students.
Who created the course?: the course was created by the Librarian with resources gathered from the Open Education Consortium.
Why do we need this course?: the course addresses an issue that was brought up at FAC this semester regarding the importance of teaching Netiquette to students as it relates to
electronic communication.
Incentive: students will earn a badge upon completion of the course.
