On behalf of the Granger family we want to congratulate Sue Gupta, Sonia Peraza, Pete Walker and Wynne Weiss on their retirement. Your time and dedication not only here at Granger but at other schools you have been a part of has earned you this great new adventure. You have all contributed a great amount towards the education and growth of our students, one which is not an easy job. You will truly be missed. Granger Jr. High thanks you for your service and wishes you a long, healthy and happy retirement!

Sue Gupta

Sue Gupta has been with the SUHSD since 2002, marking 16 years. Prior to teaching at Granger, she taught in Illinois for 9 years. She has taught math to all grade levels here at Granger and was involved in other administrative tasks on campus.


What will she miss the most?

"My bright and smart students."

Sonia Peraza

Sonia Peraza is retiring from SUHSD with 33 years of service. Before becoming GJH's Bilingual Site Tester, she was an Instructional Aide for over 10 years-- 9 at Castle Park Middle School and 2 at Granger. This year marked her 24th year at Granger, making her the staff member with the most years.



What will she miss the most?

"I'll miss waking up everyday to come work with the Granger staff and with Adriana. It has been a pleasure."

Pete Walker

Pete Walker has been an SUHSD Instructional Health Assistant for 35 years. He began at Sweetwater Union High School where he completed 21 years. Pete arrived to Granger in 2004 and has been here since.


What will he miss the most?

"Definitely the kids."

Wynne Weiss

Wynne Weiss has been a part of school district for over 36 years both in Illinois and California. She has held the position of Librarian at SUHSD for over 7 years. We thank her for her part in keeping Granger Griffins engaged in literacy and excited to read new books.


What will she miss the most?

"The Granger staff, parents, students and community members."
