Important TEA & CFISD COVID Information
In alignment with TEA, CFISD has updated the protocol for informing parents about positive COVID cases at the campus. Last year, a notification letter was sent to the entire campus community informing you of a positive case. This year the email will be sent only to students/staff in the same class as the positive case. This does not mean your child had direct contact with the positive case. It is simply a letter to let you know someone in the same class tested positive. This letter does not imply that your child needs to isolate or quarantine, we are simply providing information and ask that you monitor your child for any symptoms. Please visit our District LEAD Safely page for more details. The CFISD Covid-19 dashboard is updated daily. The dashboard includes all reported positive cases district-wide, including staff who are not assigned to classrooms. Please see the information linked below.

A Note from the Principal
During our campus kick-off during staff inservice that year, my principal played the song "Right Field" by Peter, Paul, and Mary. On my way home from my little farm this weekend, I heard that song, and a flood of memories came crashing back. Do you have a song that is tied to a memory? A song, that when you hear it, the melody transports you back to another place and time? (That experience is called a "memory tag").
As I listened this evening to "Right Field", the faces and names of my students came rushing back to me. Steven, Matthew, Adam, Ismael, Stephanie, Maria...that was so long ago! However, my students that year made a huge impact on me as an educator. I've included a link to the song for your enjoyment and contemplation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaBcOBHOvNc
Over the years, I have learned that kids have so many "right field" moments in life. Sometimes they catch the ball, sometimes they don't, when they are growing up. How we help them face those "right field" moments makes an imprint on their development, their attitudes, and their confidence. Embracing the times that they watch the dandelions grow, and allowing them to experience the failure or success, of those "right field" moments is important. Teaching and parenting is about allowing our kids to have a wide variety of experiences. Sometimes those experiences will teach them the joy of success, and sometimes the disappointment that comes with defeat. In success or in failure, every "right field" moment, helps them see that life is a journey, and sometimes watching the dandelions grow along the way is ok.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Important Car Rider Reminders
Zonar
Calling all parents whose students are transported by bus. Zonar is a wonderful way to track your child once they leave in the morning as well as when they come home in the evening. Please take a moment to register your child here for a valuable piece of mind. Your Puma has to be registered with Zonar each year.
REMINDERS:
Walkers & Bikers: Only students that live in Towne Lake on the Green directly behind Postma will be permitted to be a walker or a biker to school. Click here for a link to the permission slip to be a walker/biker. Please email this permission slip to Keri.Summers@cfisd.net. Please contact Keri if you have any questions. You will be contacted to confirm your student’s eligibility to be a walker/biker.
Car Rider:
As anticipated, we have more car riders this year than ever before! Thank you in advance for your patience. Our number one priority is student safety. Procedures are designed to ensure all are safe. It's important that everyone follow those procedures.
This year, we are asking all parents (new and returning) to complete the car rider registration online. Every car rider should have a PURPLE car rider tag. If you don't have a PURPLE car rider tag, you will be asked to park and come in to sign your child out. We will not sign out students until the car rider line is complete. In order to access the link for car rider registration click here. We will send your new Car Rider Tag home with your child once registration is complete. Please be patient as we practice procedures and safety.
We just can’t hide our Puma Pride!
Grow to glow!

Parents - Important Reminder
Thank you for your assistance.
Reminder: Friday is Postma Spirit Day!
Please help your child wear a spirit shirt on Friday each week. Barstow's Brigade and McClosky's Marvels earn points for their teams when 80% of a student's homeroom class wears their Postma spirit shirt. It's fun and builds school spirit! Game On, Pumas!

Key of the Month - Speak with Good Purpose
Speak honestly and kindly.
Think before you speak. Make sure your intention is positive and your words are sincere.
Speaking with good purpose is a way to help students understand that words have power. Our words have the power to build others up, or tear them down. Understanding that when we "Speak with Good Purpose", our intention is to help make a situation or a person feel better.
Speak with Good Purpose, Pumas!
