First Day of School
Grades 9-12
Taking Attendence
As students walk in my classroom, they will be given a focus activity. My procedure for taking attendance at the beginning of school year is to make a seating chart on first day. Using this same seating chart, I will list any students who are absent by date, as they complete a focus activity.

Student will be added to seating chart. Student will be introduced to the class and meet with student informally to make a plan to cover work that has been missed to date. Student will be given appropriate text.

Cell phones and head phones are not permitted in class. If a student comes to class with these items, they will be asked to place them on my desk until the end of class.

Getting Students Attention
At the beginning of class, my procedure will be to greet students. They will also be reminded that they are to working on their focus activity. They will be notified how long they have left to complete this project.
Group activities will be timed and tracked using a cooking timer that beeps. This signals students that the time is up and need to put conversation on hold and wait for further dictions.

Touching Others
Rules will be developed by students at the beginning of the school year. They will be reviewed as needed. All rules will be explained in an in depth manner.
Example: Respect Others. This means that you keep your hands to yourself. You will be verbally redirected if you are not following this rule. If the student is not responding to directives, they will be given a management referral.

Students are permitted to redo assignments to make sure that they understand skill and process. Students are not allowed to retake tests. Should this happen, an alternative test will be given.

Tests are worth 20 points each.
Quizzes and projects are worth 10 points each.

There are four quarters. The maximum amount of points per quarter is 300.
Tests are worth 20 points each.
Quizzes and projects are worth 10 points each.
Homework and group classwork are worth 5 points each.

Tests are worth 20 points (5 tests for a total of 100 points)
Quizzes and projects are worth 10 points (8 quizzes and 2 projects for 100 points)
Homework and group classwork are worth 5 points (20 assignments 100 points)

Students will be given a copy of their grade every Monday for review.

I will make one positive phone call per quarter to the students parents to give positive feedback on their child's progress.
