On October 23rd, our Talk about it Tuesday will be our IST meeting for the month of October. I know you have A LOT going on between now and then, so just peek at this email and then file it away for later.
1. Please make sure that the RTI desktop is filled out correctly for all IST students. This includes notes from last meeting, interventions, baseline progress monitoring data
2. If you want to add kids to IST at this meeting, you will need to support this decision with either FAST data or behavior data. If the student was not screened in the fall with FAST and you would like to add them to IST, please let me know and I will show you how to screen them. I can also help collect behavior data, just let me know!
3. As a grade level, please create a prioritized list of your IST students using this document. Refer to the descriptions at the top to determine priority. When you are finished, please save it in the team drive>RTI folder>IST & SST folder>IST Meetings>October 23rd.

Complete RTI desktop for IST students. Prioritize list of IST students with your grade level before Oct. 23rd.

Read All About It Strategy!
1. Using a sentence strip, post a headline that has something to do with the media segment you’ve chosen. For example, if the media you’ve selected is about sharks, the headline could be “Sharks: Dangerous Predator or Fascinating Fish?”
2. Play the audio or video segment (consider unplugging the video cable so that students only have audio input.) Ask students to read the transcript silently as it is played aloud. As they read and listen, students should collect evidence that relates to the headline you posted.
3. Play the audio a second time. Pause the audio at specific, predetermined moments and ask students to discuss in pairs or as a whole group.
4. Play the audio a third time. Ask students to write summary statements in their own words that support the idea presented in the headline. Students may work individually, in pairs, or in small groups.)
5. Play the audio a fourth time. Pause, as needed, and have students finalize their summaries on sentence strips.
6. Post final summaries under the headline.

SPARK Success!
· Just a reminder that the October Postcards should have gone home by last Friday. However, I know it was a crazy week, please make sure you send your postcards by this Friday. Remember we will send a minimum of 4 postcards home a month.
· New Update: You do not have to print reports off from Class Dojo.
· Grade Chairs- please send Katie Colson the new categories you would like in class dojo by Thursday. We want to implement in new changes before Quarter 2.
Curriculum Corner
· In planning, please remember to deconstruct the standards.
Deconstructing is the process of taking a broad standard and analyzing its components, then breaking the standard into smaller, more explicit instructional learning targets for use in daily teaching and classroom-level assessment.
· During your Guided Reading, remember to be taking anecdotal notes and giving running reading records.
· Request for Coaching Support-Click HERE to request support from one of our Coaches.
