Go find the bus and post a selfie on Facebook and Twitter! Also, the Hamilton Southeastern Education Foundation is sponsoring a backpack giveaway for students who enroll by April 30. A name will be drawn at random from EACH school, and those lucky students will win a backpack with school supplies AND a $50 gift card to Meijer!

Join us at our Kindergarten Open House on 4/13. See the Open House flyer below for entrance times. One parent and your new incoming Kindergartener will be given a passport to take the “Tiger Trek” through our school to collect goodies and information. Along your journey, you’ll visit key locations and classrooms where your student will be learning such as the gym, cafeteria, media center, and other cool places.
You can also visit the nurse to drop off any important medical information. Our office staff will be here as well to answer enrollment questions, make copies of required documents, etc. to ensure your child is properly enrolled.
At the end of your trek through FES, you will receive a certificate for a free kid’s meal at BIBIBOP, get to touch and look in a real school bus, take a picture in our school frame, and enjoy some Kona Ice!

COLLEGE AND CAREER MONTH STARTING MARCH 29th
Every year, FES has a College and Career Week! This is a fun time for students to learn about different jobs and careers and explore their interests. This year, just like most of the school year, it will look a little different. We are going to spread this over the month of April to help teachers continue their core teaching and find ways to integrate this into their lessons.
We will kick it off with a Spirit week starting Monday, March 29th. We would love for you to zoom in with your child’s class or grade level and teach them about your job. You can fill out this Microsoft form to let us know you are interested in doing that. Or you can email your child’s teacher. Thanks for helping us teach our students how to think about the future!

Vote for your favorite FES Support Staff Employee
Honor and Excellence are two of the terms that appear on the Hamilton Southeastern Crest. One might attribute these qualities to our students, and rightly so, but the same terms can also describe our staff. We honor representatives of our outstanding teachers at the end of each year through the Teacher of the Year program. We would also like to recognize representatives from our SUPPORT STAFF who demonstrate excellence in their work, particularly in a school year like no other!
We are looking for support staff employees who go beyond the normal expectations of their job description resulting in outstanding support of Hamilton Southeastern students and the Hamilton Southeastern Community.
Nominees must be Hamilton Southeastern employees or contracted employees working in our buildings. They could be from any support staff category, including: custodial services, transportation, food service, technology, grounds, secretarial, instructional assistants, maintenance, accounting, treasurers, school resource officers, nurses, therapists, probation officers, etc. Qualifications to be nominated would include anything beyond the normal expectations of the person’s job. It could be a “one-time” act or a series of acts.
Nominations may be received from any person from the Hamilton Southeastern Community, including: professional staff, support staff, parents, students, community members, etc.
Feel free to nominate past recipients of the award. Past award winners are eligible to be chosen again.
If you would like to nominate someone for this award, please complete the form on or before March 23. If you have any questions, please contact Sharon Moore at smoore@hse.k12.in.us. Be sure to get your nomination in early - those received after March 23 will not be considered.
Thanks for your help in honoring the excellent work of our support staff!

COVID CONTACT TRACING - HSE SCHOOLS
Schools will immediately contact Fishers Health Department and/or Hamilton County Health Department upon learning of a positive COVID case among student body or staff. The Indiana State Department of Health will lead contact tracing and case investigation in consultation with FHD. As of Feb. 17, general notification of COVID-related cases in schools via Skylert will cease. Families will only be notified if their student(s) are a close contact. This change in practice is to reduce confusion. All COVID-related cases among students and staff can be found on the COVID19 Data Dashboard and is updated on Monday mornings. The dashboard was created to provide transparency about what is happening in the school corporation.

Masks on Buses
Please make sure your children have their masks on when leaving home to get on the bus. Please discuss with them they should have them on from the time they walk to the bus, while on the bus, throughout their school day and their bus ride home. Transportation Bus Drivers are reporting a number of children getting on the bus without a mask. While they have extras, they need to reserve those for emergency issues (such as a child's mask strap breaks).
Thank you, your help is greatly appreciated!
