#CelebrateMonday
September 10, 2018
Mondays are always good days to have a good day! Sometimes it may take a significant amount of effort to convince ourselves of this, but it's always worth it!
And Mondays are about new beginnings - the possibilities for this week are endless!
There are so many positive attributes of social media when it comes to education. It gives us the opportunity to connect with other educators from around the globe and allows us to quickly and openly share ideas with each other!
Sometimes, though, when we are looking through all of the awesome ideas being shared by other educators (or even sometimes when we walk through the halls) we can begin to feel like what we are doing is not enough. Other leaders are more creative and more leaderly than we are. Other teachers have better rooms, more creative lessons, better seating arrangements, etc.
It's good for us to share ideas and to take the time to learn from others to gain new ideas. It's good for us to consider trying new things in our buildings with our students that we haven't tried before. Trying out new ideas is how we discover what works for us and our students.
But it's also important to remember that this isn't a competition. We have to remember that we can't do all things - nor should we try to do all things. We need to remember that having a focus is a good thing. We need to find what works for ourselves and for our students and do those things - that is enough.
So instead of looking at what our fellow educators are doing and feeling that we aren't doing enough, we should recognize the good that we are doing and celebrate the differences among all of us!
And as you #CelebrateMonday and all of the beautiful differences among educators, don't forget to make this the best Monday of the week!
Cheers!
