Wow, It's Cold Outside!
Yes, we are headed into winter whether we like it or not! As a reminder, we attempt to go outside every day that we can for recess. We use guidelines provided by WCASD, which take into consideration the air temperature and wind speed, to make a decision on whether to go outside or not. So, please dress your child for the day. If we feel a child may not have the proper attire on for recess, we will attempt to find something in the office or call home.
It is also the time of year that our "Lost and Found" grows because students often remove layers as they heat up. Please include your child's name inside of coats and sweatshirts so the item can be returned. If you think something never made it home, encourage your child to check our container with unclaimed items near the cafeteria.
We look forward to seeing many parent volunteers at the PTO-sponsored Holiday Workshop tomorrow. A huge thank you to Shannon Lisa and her army of elves that make the day possible.

From the Nurses Office: Preventing the Flu
- CDC recommends a yearly flu vaccine as the first and most important step in protection against the flu and its potentially serious complications.
- Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
- While sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to keep from infecting them.
- If you are sick with flu-like illness, CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities.
- Cover your nose and mouth with your elbow when you cough or sneeze.
- After using a tissue, throw it in the trash and wash your hands.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
- Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work or school, especially when someone is ill.
