We will see you all at the DMS vs LMS game at the Madison City Stadium on TUESDAY night! See information in game section below.
Con/Sym students, please read your news section!
Guard did a GREAT JOB at their performance on Thursday! It was so fun to see the band and guard perform together. We can't wait for Tuesday's performance.
We still need BOTTLED WATER donations for the game Tuesday!!
Bed Sheet fundraiser has ended for this first round. We will be doing another round of sales in November. You can still order online.
Online sheet sales can be found here:

Reminder: If you have arranged a payment plan for band class fees/instrument rental/etc., please be sure to make your assigned payments ON TIME as much as possible based on your plan specifications. If you are going to be late on a payment, you should contact us (email is fine). If you have any questions regarding finances for band, contact us at info@dmsbands.org. Thank you for your assistance with this important matter!
Spring Trip information coming soon!
Concert and Symphonic Band students are the only ones eligible for this trip. Sorry, Cadets!
Cadet/Beginner Band
Have your students perform for you! Most classes have learned something they can play for you and having them perform for family is GREAT practice!
If grades are lower than expected, we almost guarantee its because of Google Classroom grades. Check GC and see if there are missing assignments!
If you are interested in getting private lessons for your student, this is a great time to start. Check out our band website, or call local music stores for help. You can email us at info@dmsbands.org if you still can't find someone and we will help.
All students should have an instrument, a book and a binder by now.
Concert/Symphonic Bands
-See the next section for GAME SCHEDULE for TUESDAY this week.
-- TUBA PLAYERS: Please bring your home-tubas for the game. We will talk to students in class, we really only need 2 or 3 home tubas, but as many as we can safely transport would be good.
All students in Concert and Symphonic Band had GOOGLE CLASSROOM playing assignments due this weekend. Please double check that your student has completed this assignment. We have gone over how to turn these in extensively, but if there are still questions please email info@dmsbands.org.
If your student's grade is lower than expected, it is most likely due to missing Google Classroom assignments. We do give credit for late work, so please get them turned in ASAP.
Please pay for your polo and/or class book if you haven't!
Polos are $22 (need order form, too) and books are $12.
We have started to have homework assignments in the book. ALL students need a book in class and if they don't have one, they are missing out. Let us know if you have questions.
Details for the spring band trip will be out soon!
DMS vs LMS SCHEDULE ---- PLEASE READ!!!!
At Madison City Stadium
8th grade game only (start time around 6:30pm)
Drop off and Pick up will be at DMS in the band room.
If there are students willing to stay and load the trailer (stay until 5pm) we would need a parent to volunteer to bring them a pizza or something for dinner. If they don't have dinner plans, they shouldn't stay because we can't provide food.
If you CAN and would LIKE TO transport your student straight to MCS Stadium at 5:15pm, please fill out this google form below.
Likewise, if you'd like to TAKE YOUR STUDENT HOME FROM THE GAME instead of riding the bus back to DMS, you must SIGN YOUR STUDENT OUT. Also, please fill out this same google form:
https://forms.gle/xTpCbdqBVWcq6ABs8
Load Trailer: 3:50-4pm
Drop off at DMS: 5pm, ready to load bus
Pick Up at DMS: End of game, transport time back to DMS: Around 9:30-9:45pm
Students will perform Sucker at halftime from the stands. Guard will perform on the field facing the DMS/Away side.
I hope that answers all of your questions, but if you have others -- please let us know.
Thanks for your patience in this event!!
VOLUNTEER
Thank you to those who are considering volunteering to help our band program!! We depend on our amazing parent volunteers - and we have fun, too!
Fundraising
Sheet fundraiser has concluded for this round. We will begin a second round of sales in November.
Halloween Dance hosted by DMS Bands and DMS PTA is coming up soon!
This is a big undertaking and we could use LOTS of parent volunteers, but it is so much fun! We raise money for the band and PTA programs at Discovery and make a really fun evening possible for our kids. Please help us out!
Date: 10/24
DMS Gym
