Spring Break
Hello Glennwood Families,
I am thrilled to announce that Glennwood’s school counseling program has been designated as a Recognized ASCA Model Program by the American School Counselor Association. This is a BIG DEAL and has been a two-year process that was led by Mr. Blase, our school counselor. We are so proud of him and all who worked towards this goal for our school and students. Here is a bit more information about what this means:
The Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) recognizes schools committed to delivering comprehensive, data-informed school counseling programs aligned with the ASCA National Model framework. The RAMP designation demonstrates to administrators, school boards, families and the community at large that the schools are committed to supporting the mission of the school and district.
Warmest regards,
Holly Brookins, PhD
Principal

Parent Volunteers for Read Live Needed
We are looking for a few parent volunteers to work with our students in reading. Every morning our intervention teachers host Read Live for eligible students in the library. Read Live is a computer based reading intervention. The students working through the program are assisted and monitored by adults. The more adults we have, the more students we can support.
What days and times can I volunteer?
We need volunteers daily from 7:55- 8:30.
What is the commitment?
We do need consistency. We are asking that volunteers commit to at least 1 morning (the same day) each week.
Is there training involved?
There is a short training video. The first 2 sessions you sign up for will also be part of your training. During these first 2 sessions, you will observe the teachers as they work with students.
Do I need experience?
No. If you can read, you can sign up to be a Read Live volunteer. Our intervention teachers will always be with you to support or answer questions.
What exactly will I be doing?
You will help support students as they move through the steps of the program and assist in monitoring their reading progress.
Click here to sign up. We are asking that all volunteers commit to at least 1 morning (the same day) each week. Thank you!

Musical Beat Buddies Needed
Our music program is seeking any beanie babies that are ready to find a new home and become part of a class set of musical “beat buddies.” Our young musicians love to use beat buddies as we develop our sense of steady beat and move creatively to various styles of music. Any contributions can be dropped off in the front office in a basket marked “Musical Beat Buddies” or given to Ms. Pierce. Rest assured, your beloved beanie babies will be well loved and taken care of in our music room.
Musically,
Kathryn Pierce
