What Will We Be Learning This Week?
Math
We have completed Unit 1 but we need to keep reviewing for the test. We will be taking the Unit 1 test on Tuesday and then beginning Unit 2.
Language Arts
We will continue reading Food Chains and Food Webs, further exploring what we are learning in science. We will either finish towards the end of this week or early next week.
We will not have a Words Their Way spelling list this week because we do not have school on Friday.

Social Studies
We will learn about French and English explorers like Sir Francis Drake, Henry Hudson, and Samuel de Champlain.
We will also be learning about political maps, which show countries, states and boundaries that are defined by people and governments, not nature.
Science
We will continue learning about the characteristics of land biomes.

Odds and Ends
Accelerated Math
AM will count for a grade next week. I will take a grade off of a student's average practice grade and test grade for the week. Students are usually expected to master 5 objectives each week, but this week will be 4 due to the teacher workday.
Haw River Field Trip 10/8-10/10
Please remember:
- All payments are due by 10/1.
- Students will not be allowed to bring medications/medicines of any kind on the trip without a physician's order. This, along with the medication, is due by 10/6.
- Students need to begin thinking about packing for the trip. Clothes should all be old and able to get muddy. Students should pack clothing and toiletries in a carry-on sized bag and bedding/pillow in a trash bag. Each should be labeled with the student's name.
