Stanwood Middle School
Family Message - Tuesday, August 8th, 2023
Good morning everyone!
Stanwood Middle School is very excited to welcome everyone back! We hope you've enjoyed your summer break.
We will be having Open House on Thursday, August 31st from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Families will be able to get paper copies of their schedules, check on bus routes, tour the building and meet most of their teachers.
The first day of school will be Tuesday, September 5th (full calendar below). Our custodial staff has worked hard to get the building ready and we look forward to seeing students walk through the doors. We will be sending regular Family Messages throughout the year.
If you're receiving this email and do not plan on Stanwood Middle School next year, please contact our office at 360.629.1350 or send an email to our Office Manager, Barbara Burton, at bburton@stanwood.wednet.edu as soon as possible.
Student Schedules (Skyward)
We are working on cleaning up student schedules currently and finalizing our staffing. Please understand, at this time, changes may happen until this has taken place. We plan to open up Skyward to view schedules on August 23rd or 24th.
Office Hours:
Our office will open on August 10th from 8:00AM-2:00PM daily until school starts. If you have any questions &/or need to drop off any items, this is a great time to do that. There may be some variations to the hours as our office staff will be going through training on certain days. You may want to call before stopping by the school. To reach us by phone, please call 360.629.1350.
Important dates:
Open House - Thursday, August 31st - 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
First Day of School - Tuesday, September 5th
Picture Day - Friday, September 15th
Construction Updates:
You will see from the pictures below that we still have a lot going on around our building. We are still on schedule for our windows to be completed and our floor is curing nicely. We should have new bleachers in time for our Open House as well. Our custodians have done a great job preparing the building for the beginning of the school year.

Sports Information
Sports season kicks off September 5 for middle school athletes; practice is after school for
Cross Country (Girls and Boys, grades 6th-8th) and Girls Soccer (7th and 8th grade)
To register for athletics, we are using FinalForms . Please read the information below on how to register your Spartan for sports this year.
New Athletic Registration via FinalForms We are very excited to announce that the Stanwood-Camano School District has partnered with FinalForms - an online forms and data management service that will help streamline athletic registration for student athletes and their families. FinalForms allows you to complete and sign athletic participation forms for your student(s), upload required documents, and view their clearance/eligibility status. The most exciting news is that FinalForms saves data from season-to-season and year-to-year, which means you will never need to enter the same information twice! FinalForms also pre-populates information wherever possible, for each of your students, saving you time. Click on the Parent Playbook (attached) to get started. Please visit https://stanwood-wa.finalforms.com to register and follow the prompts to create your account, add your student (use their school email address), and sign your forms. You may review your data at any time to verify it is current. You will be required to sign your forms once per year (parent/guardian AND student) and after any update. If you need support during registration, scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Get Help” or reach out directly to your school’s athletic office. If you are unable to register online from home, please visit the office or contact us for further assistance. Thank you for your support in streamlining our process. FinalForms will be a wonderful tool for safety, compliance, communication, and so much more! Looking forward to a great year ahead.
