In Case You Missed It:
Our counselors have the EVAAS spreadsheets with teacher predictions based off benchmarks and classroom performance. Nejla and Anna met with each grade level when they discussed plans last week. They will be meeting one-on-one and in small groups to help our students with test anxiety and strategies for doing well.
Jamie, Evan, and I are willing to do whatever is needed to help with discipline, students that need a little encouragement, and/or a serious one-on-one discussion with whomever you feel needs our touch. This and any other ideas will be discussed in Leadership on Monday.
I want to give you all a fist bump, high-five, AND a big hug for all the flexibility you showed last week with the incentive parties. Thank you for reading emails, asking questions, and allowing our students time out of class to celebrate supporting our magazine and/or chocolate bar sales. The incredible amount of students who earned these incentives just showed how much family and community support we have.
Our PTSO purchased desktops to be used to trade out teacher desktops which are slow. We are determining which ones need to be switched out based off of model numbers and tracker logs. We have 13 coming in, and so far 10 have been delivered. The older models will be used to add to the student desktops in classrooms. Our PTSO wants to do whatever they can to support us as we support all our children to grow. Our PTSO ROCKS!
I still do not know any specific information about LCS Summer Achievement (summer school). I was told more information should be shared with me early this week. Right now I know we will be having SA and it will be in June. I have had several staff members say they are interested. As soon as more information is sent my way, I will get it out to you.
Congratulations to Nick Szakaly for getting a position in the field of human resources in our area! He accepted the position right before our break. His last day was Friday. I apologize for not sharing the information sooner.
Andrew Carnegie will be joining us as a custodian/bus driver. We are not sure his start date, yet. He currently works at J Glenn Edwards in the same type of position. He was looking for more hours and is excited to work with middle school kids.
Congratulations to Ashley Parker! She has accepted and officer manager position in our area beginning in July.
