Week of September 24th

September Success

Thank you so much for a great September. We will be wrapping up our September with a fantastic week ahead. I am so proud of our students and I love watching them live out Principle 1 of the Energy Bus Journey! Great things are ahead for our Hawks!

Tonight (September 21) the Lady Hawk volleyball team will take on the Waco University Trojans at home. All Red Oak Elementary students and one adult will get in free with their bracelet. Students received a bracelet from the Volleyball players this morning. They will also receive a free hot dog. The match starts at 5:30 pm. Please join us for the match and support our Lady Hawks!

Enjoy your weekend!

TECH TID BITS!

We have had a wonderful start to the 2018-2019 school year. Many parents wish that they could help their student at home but find it daunting and often exhausting after a long day at work and school. We love to partner with our parents and to show our students that we are a team in building the best educational opportunities that we can. One of the ways ROISD has provided for students is through a great new resource called Class Link. Parents and students can go to the ROISD webpage and click on STUDENT. Then choose the CLASS LINK icon. Their username is their lunch# and their password is their lunch#-initials. This new single sign on app allows students to access many of the wonderful websites and programs we have available through our ROISD portal. Students will click on the ONLINE DIGITAL RESOURCES tab and there they will find sites such as:

* DREAMBOX a self paced review for math, *STUDIES WEEKLY lessons and activities for social studies, * MYON which is books that students can read online or have read to them, *GOOGLE CLASSROOM that has TIMELY TECH activities posted each month, *STEMSCOPES lessons and activities that support the Science curriculum and many other amazing adventures await your student.

  • Please remember school hours are 7:40-3:10.
  • Students are considered late to school after 7:45 (via school clocks).
  • Breakfast ends at 7:40. Students wanting breakfast need to arrive by 7:30.
  • Students who leave before dismissal time at 3:10 are considered early sign-outs.

Lunch Visitors

If you come to visit for lunch, we ask that you please eat lunch with your child at one of the side tables or benches. Lunch visitors must be listed in Skyward. Please don’t invite other students to join your family while you eat. Thank you for your cooperation!

Dreambox

Dreambox is a great application for students to practice math skills. This app can be reached on our website under the student digital subscriptions.
