Weekly News!
Esti-Mysteries We show them the picture and they estimate how many objects are in the vase. Then clues are given 1 at a time. They use a 100s chart to mark off the numbers. After the 4th clue, we estimate one last time and then reveal the answer. | Classroom Expectations These are the four expectations we talk about each week in class and online. Our learners have been doing a great job of practicing them everyday. Ask them to tell you what they are and what they look like in class. | Thinking Marks (text tagging) This is the top half of a bookmark. It gives examples of the kind of post-it notes they will be adding to their reading. This is a way for learners to engage in their reading and increase their comprehension. We will discuss the notes they wrote during our Literature Circles. |

Our district is holding a Summer Reading Program. We are challenging your learners to read at least 30 minutes everyday. They can log their minutes everyday at this link.
The district is tracking reading progress by school and grade so let's show everyone what OVS can do!
