What is it?
Child labor is the employment of children in any work that deprives children of their childhood, interferes with their ability to attend regular school, and that is mentally and physically, dangerous and harmful. They are put in harsh conditions that no child should have to go through in their life. Throughout the world there around 215 million children between the ages of 5-17 who are doing dangerous work.
What they do
Children that are in child labor are forced to produce cocoa, work in mines, do meatpacking, weave silk, pick cotton that is later used in stores such as H&M, Gap, and Forever 21. They are operating heavy and dangerous machinery that they never have to do at that young age.
