Did you know? Each week we will be highlighting fun facts about Anthem School, enjoy!
Classes across campus do LtoJ quizzes so we remember what we are taught throughout the school year. We do NOT have permission to forget!
WIN time stands for What I Need. Teachers use this time to help students learn material, review, or even extend their learning.
Most schools don’t have STUCO for Kindergarten through 5th grade but we do? We are so lucky to have Nurse Kelly and Ms. Nichols lead our STUCO for student leaders in all grades!
STEAM days are held on most Early Release days to engage students in hands - on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art or Math activities? What did you do on your last STEAM day?
Kindergarten and 1st graders use iPads in their classrooms. Students use fun programs like Capit and Osmo during centers and rotations.
Second through 8th grade has a computer cart for almost every classroom? After fundraising this year, we should have a cart in each classroom for students to use next year!
All Things E.Q.
Hello Parents,
As you know, parenting can be challenging and everything doesn't always go according to our plans.
The same is true for our kids. They have to deal with unmet expectations, frustrations and challenges just like us. One way to reassure your child after a difficult day is to explain that everyone has difficult days. We all walk through challenges because no one is immune to tough times. Often, what makes our bad day feel worse is the idea that they only happen to us.
Problems are a part of life, so naturally, they will be a part of our life too.
Once we help our children recognize that everyone deals with difficulties, problems can feel more manageable. When problems do pop up, and they will, it's nice to know how to handle the disappointment and frustration that follows. Which is why our motto in school this week is:
I drop my shoulders. I take a few breaths.
I can handle this.
When our children take a moment to feel calmer, they are better able to focus on the solution rather than the problem. After all, when we pause, relax our shoulders and take a few breaths we realize that while the moment may not be what we expect, we can still make the most of the moment we have because life isn't about the mistakes, it's about the recovery.
Best to you,
Danna Evans
