A Message from our Principal
We are so excited to see you all either in-person or remotely next Tuesday and Wednesday! We can't wait!!
Our staffulty have been working so hard over the last 8 days to build a quality experience for you this fall. I know that it's going to be really different than any other start to your school year. But, I'm confident in you and in our staff. We can adjust and all do our best to be patient with each other while we navigate these waters. Grace goes a long way. It's important for all of us to remember.
A lot of learning will be placed on students in self-directed learning time. There's no way around this. This is a skill set that we traditionally, gradually develop over four years of high school (more self-directed as Seniors than as Freshmen). The current situation forces us to accelerate this. So - get engaged in your own learning on day one. Stay engaged. Those students who take this seriously and thrive in the face of difficulty are going to be far ahead of those who sit back and disengage. The gap between these two groups of students will be huge when this is all over.
I believe in us. In you. In our community. Our Panthers are Resilient. They can master Self-Direction. They can develop Agency for their own learning. they have the Academic Tenacity necessary to come out on the winning side of this whole experience. We can do this together!
Even though we'll only be together for a short time and then back to remote (until at least Labor Day), it's still worth looking forward to. Remember, when we're together in-person, we need to do everything we can to practice good physical distancing and wear our masks at all times. We're all in this together and we control a lot about how long we're able to remain in-person. #PantherStrong!
See you soon!
Mr. Burr
