Blue Forum Supply List
Just the basics to get us started
General Notes
I've really tried to get the basic materials students will need. As I told the students at Leadership Camp, they are free to add whatever they wish. However, more is not necessarily better, as they have to keep most of their materials in their backpacks and/or locker. Please try to get materials specifically as stated. Brands are not specific, just types of supplies. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. It would be great if all students had their materials on the first day of school, as we will jump right in.
2-inch Binder
Try to get a good, sturdy binder. You typically get what you pay for here. Durable is key.
3-Hole Punched Notebooks
Students need three separate notebooks with 70-100 pgs each (at least one w/ 100 pgs). Different colors would be great to differentiate the subjects. College ruled or wide ruled is fine - whichever is preferred by your student. Again, look for a sturdy notebook. We use these almost every day.
2-Pocket Folder
Please get a two-pocket folder with holes so it can be placed in the binder.
Art Sketchbook
The one pictured is just an idea. The kids can get whatever they want for their sketchbook as long as the paper is "bound" together, blank, and at least the size of regular printer paper.
Dividers
Students will need a set of dividers for their binder.
Composition Notebook
The cover of this notebook can be whatever the students want. It is going to get covered anyway. The standard black and white are usually the cheapest.
Ball-point Pens & Highlighters
A couple different colored pens and highlighters would be great.
Pencils
Mechanical or wooden pencils - whichever your student prefers. Just make sure you have some back-ups.
Pencil Pouch
The ones with metal rings are the best. They tend to last.
Extras
Anything else is icing on the cake. I know they will want to add some of their own ideas. Pencil boxes are not necessary as students keep their materials in their pencil pouches in their binders.
No Planner Needed
Planners have already been bought for the students. Please do not buy something different.
If I think of anything else, I will let you know. Of course, if students already have some of these materials at home, they are welcome to use them - vintage items are the best! Again, if you have any questions, please ask. Happy shopping!
