Principal's April Newsletter

A New Look for My Monthly Newsletter

Dear Eagleville Families, I know that time is a precious commodity and there is often very little time to read the newsletters I have traditionally shared. I am hopeful that this new format will allow me to communicate with you in a more user-friendly format. Please share your thoughts on the new format by emailing me at jsorgini@methacton.org. Have a wonderful month of April! Sincerely, Mr. Sorgini

Teachers and Parents Working Together

The Importance of Homework: A Message from Mr. Sorgini

As a parent, I spend time most evenings helping my sons with their homework, checking their assignments books, and signing tests that have been sent home for me to review. Homework is an extension of the lessons that are taught during the day in school. It provides an opportunity for the student to practice his or her newly learned skills and allows the teacher to see in a tangible way if the student is able to independently apply the skills outside of the classroom. Homework is also an opportunity for parents to gain insight into the skills that were taught and activities that took place in school that day. Please talk with your children about the homework that is assigned each day and look together at the assignments, tests and other important forms that are sent home in the backpack. Your help encouraging your child to complete assignments and the timely return of forms that have been sent home to be signed are an important component of the education of the students of Eagleville. Thank you for your support.
