Faces of Fordland
Mr. Smith,
Meet Mr. Joshua Smith! Mr. Smith teaches World History and Government at Fordland High School. Fordland has a reputation for having high-quality educators and Mr. Smith is no exception. He was recently a semi-finalist for Missouri Teacher of the Year. Congratulations, Mr. Smith!
Q: Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
A: "I restore classic cars as a side business. I have done body and paintwork for 20 years. I also work on my own cars and recently bought a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner to restore."
Q: What is your favorite thing to do when you're not a work?
A: "I love to spend time with my family, traveling, camping, and enjoying time in the outdoors. I also like to work out, either in the gym or running."
Q: What advice would you give our students?
A: "Try something new at least once a year. It is good to get outside your comfort zone every once in a while. And if you are not good at it (you won't be), don't give up, but push yourself to get better."
