SHISD Welcomes Adrian Knight, Assistant Superintendent of College and Career Readiness
On Monday December 9th the Spring Hill ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Adrian Knight for the position of assistant superintendent of college and career readiness. Mr. Knight currently oversees the Region VII career and technology education program for the entire region. Mr. Knight is a graduate of Spring Hill High School and currently resides within the district.
The Spring Hill Board of Trustees and the district leadership team are very passionate in assuring that our students are fully prepared for the world in which they will enter once they leave the halls of Spring Hill ISD. We also believe that aligning our course offerings to the job demands of East Texas will benefit both our students and the greater Longview area.
With guidance from Mr. Knight our junior high began offering a career explorations class in which they are able to investigate careers while in 8th grade. These students are also learning about the career and technology opportunities they will be able to choose from while in high school.

National Junior Honor Society Assembles Stop the Bleed Kits
New Texas law requires schools to have Stop the Bleed kits available in case of emergency.
It also requires the kits, or bleeding control stations, to have tourniquets, chest seals, compression bandages, bleeding control bandages, latex-free gloves, scissors, space emergency blankets and markers.
Spring Hill's Junior National Honor Society, under the direction of District Nurse Jaymie Walton, assembled Stop the Bleed Kits for every classroom in the district. Thank you to our NJHS for staying after school to make the kits and to the School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) for providing the required items.

A Message From Nurse Jaymie Walton
Spring Hill Parents,
FLU season has arrived!
Common signs and symptoms of the flu are fever greater than 100F, coughing/sneezing,
headache, body aches and extreme fatigue.
Please help us minimize the spread of the flu by keeping your student home if they have a fever
greater than 100F. Your student must also be fever free for a full 24 hours WITHOUT the use of
fever reducing medications like Tylenol or Ibuprofen before they can return to school.
Good handwashing, staying home when running fever and exhibiting flu symptoms and yearly
flu vaccines are the best way to protect your family and reduce the spread of the flu.
Thank you for helping us keep our Spring Hill students healthy!
