Mrs. Yoder's Class

Week 7: September 28-October 2

2015 liger mile

The 2015 Liger XC Mile will take place on Thursday, October 15th at HSE high school. This race/run/walk is for ALL K-6th grade students in HSE. Entry is $16 and includes a t-shirt with all competitors' names listed on the back. Your child's teacher sent an email with the attachment with information and how to register last week. Feel free to click on the Liger Mile link below for this information as well. Please contact Clint Cushman with any questions you may have.

Picture Retakes

Picture Retake Day is October 1, 2015. If you received a picture proof or packet and would like another chance, please have your child bring the picture packet to the photographer on October 1st. If your child did not bring home a picture packet or proof, they may have been absent on Picture Day (which was September 25, 2015). So in that case, make sure the teacher knows that you would like them to take a picture on October 1st. You can still order packages online. If you would like a retake order form or have any questions about this, please contact Pat Lines in the TCE office.

Fall Fundraiser

Our Fall Fundraiser has started. A blue information sheet should have come home with your child earlier this week. This is a no sell fundraiser where all of the proceeds go directly to TCE. The fundraiser will continue until October 31st. For each child who raises at least $10 will bring home a little prize and for each family who donates at least $50 will be entered in a raffle to win an IPod Touch. Thank you for all of your support.

Conferences this year

Parent/Teacher Conferences this year at TCE will be a little different! We are all conducting Student Led Conferences! These conferences allow your child to be an important part by having them share their accomplishments and help create goals for the year. Teachers will be sending out directions on Wednesday, September 30th for parents to sign up electronically for a conference date between Monday, October 5th and Wednesday, October 21st. We can’t wait to celebrate your child’s learning with you!

Please remember the approved list of snacks that was sent home at the start of school. Many students are brining in snacks that are not approved. This is very important to follow as these have been approved by our school nurse. Thank you to those that have donated items to our snack stash.

As a reminder here is the list:

Pre-Approved Snack List:

* Goldfish Crackers only these kinds-cheddar, whole grain, colors, pretzel

* Cheese sticks or Cubes

* Fresh Fruit (apples, bananas, grapes, berries, etc.) Please do not send your child in with fruit cups. These spill and make a very sticky mess.

* Dried Fruit (raisins, apricots, bananas, etc.)

* Veggies (carrots, celery, pea pods, etc.) – NO DIPS

Grandparents Day

Grandparents Day is celebrated around the United States in the month of September. We enjoyed having our grandparents here today to share with us in our learning. We shared some of our learning via Ipads and we completed a time line of our life. Thank you to all who came.
