Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Quarter 2!

It is hard to believe that our first quarter of the school year is already over. I'm so proud of all of our students' effort and accomplishments in these first 9 weeks of school! Report cards for Quarter 1 will be distributed on Friday, October 29. I also encourage you to check PowerSchool for updates on your students' day-to-day assignments and progress.

As we move into cold and flu season, we ask that you monitor your student for signs of illness and keep them home when they are sick. Please contact our school nurse, Geana Chapp, at extension 120 with any questions or concerns.

Please remember to send your student in seasonally appropriate clothing, including jackets and outerwear, as they come to school each day. We will continue to go outside for recess as much as possible.

Wishing you and your families all the best, and please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Mrs. Michelini

Halloween Guidelines and Information

Halloween is just around the corner and our PTA has been planning a great morning for our students on Friday, October 29! We are looking forward to a fun ½ day of school for everyone. Students will be dismissed at 12pm.

Please do not send snacks or treats with students on this day. The PTA will provide snacks.

Please wear your costume to school if you are dressing up. Students that choose not to dress in a Halloween costume will be expected to follow Komarek’s dress code.

Students that are wearing a Halloween costume should adhere to the following guidelines:

  • No weapons (knives, guns, etc) or portrayals of violence

  • No blood-like paint

  • No culturally offensive or insensitive costumes

  • Costume masks that cover the full face cannot be worn at or during school. All students must wear their usual face mask that covers their nose and mouth in accordance with CDC guidelines.

We know that this list is not all-inclusive. We ask families to assist in guiding their child’s choices. Students who are not abiding by the dress code will be asked to change into a PE uniform or Komarek spirit wear.

Any parents/guardians helping with classroom parties (K-5) must sign-in at the school office and receive a visitor’s pass. The pass should be worn at all times.

Please make sure your child comes to school with a spare mask in their backpack. This is helpful in the event they need to change out masks during the course of the day. We appreciate your support with this matter.

Junior High Specials

On October 25, all junior high students received a schedule with their new course assignments. Students will follow this new specials schedule for the entirety of the second quarter, which ends on Friday, January 14.
