The Red Sea touches nine different countries, and provides important recreational activities and fishing industries that help support the economies of those countries.

The Red Sea has been a popular trading route since 1869.
Shipwrecks
The Egyptian Red Sea contains 17 major shipwrecks, Thistlegorm and the Salem Express are two of the more famous ones.
