The Red Sea contains around 200 different types of coral, 1000 species of fish, 1000 species of invertabrates, attracting divers and scientists from around the world.

There are 25 islands in the red sea, some of which are well know diving areas.
Fishing & Recreation
The Red Sea touches nine different countries, and provides important recreational activities and fishing industries that help support the economies of those countries.
The Red Sea has been a popular trading route since 1869.
The Egyptian Red Sea contains 17 major shipwrecks, Thistlegorm and the Salem Express are two of the more famous ones.
