Math
Mr. Lawton's Class ~ We have covered multiplication and division strategies. We have also worked with factors and multiples. We are now beginning multi-step multiplication and division problems. We are coming to the end of Unit 3. Next up is Geometry. I have a YouTube channel I update with walkthroughs of practice questions for quizzes and homework help. My YouTube ID is MrLawton139.
ELA
Benchmarking - It is the season for data collection! Throughout the next four weeks, I will be collecting information on your child as a reader. I'll be working individually with all of the students to see if each child has become more fluent and better at comprehending text. Look for those updates on the March 3rd report card.
Small Groups ~ We continue to meet often! We are enjoying the plot of each book.
PAWS ~ The kids are truly writing great pieces. It's very exciting for me to see how far they have come since November. The next assignment has been handed out just in case some kids want to get a head start! I appreciate all the home support for this very important assignment.
MISC ~ We have been working on there, they're, and their all week. In addition, to, two, and too! More work on the homophones during the upcoming week.
Picture Book Friday ~ Henry is going to read to us on Monday and Natalie is on for next Friday. Look for pictures in next week's newsletter.
