A Note from Mrs. Schneider
Dear Woodland Families,
I cannot believe that this is the last Woodland Watch for the 20-21 school year! It has been a year we are likely not to forget. I want to take a moment to thank all of you for your commitment and flexibility. We had to pivot multiple times, but I have been so proud of the work our families and staff have done.
We are looking forward to a more normal year next fall. Our first day of school is Monday, August 23rd. Kindergarten families will attend with their students on the first 1/2 day to meet the teachers and help transition students. We will send placement letters out electronically by the Friday of the second week of August.
One of the changes that we had to create this year was our drop off and pick up procedures. These procedures will stay the same next year. If you will be returning to Woodland in the fall, please keep your car ID tags. If this is your last year with us, please return the 2 tags by Friday. You may send them in with your students or hand them to me on Thursday or Friday during pick up.
Don't forget that chromebook return is on Monday, June 7th for our in-seat students. Students should bring their chromebook, case, and charger to school with them. We will return them during class. For our remote families, you may return your child's chromebook on Thursday afternoon if your child has access to a home computer for Friday's class. If you do not have access to another computer, you may return the chromebook from 12:30pm-4pm on Friday. If your child is CONFIRMED for summer school classes, they will be able to keep their chromebook.
Have a great summer,
Arryn Schneider
Officer Jones, our Troy School Resource Officer, visited Woodland
- Asking personal information about you (address, age, what you look like)
- Asking to meet you in person or on Zoom
- Talking about anything inappropriate (body parts, adult activities, etc)
- Requesting photos
We are thankful for Officer Jones' visit to Woodland this past week.

Woodland Virtual Art Show
Please enjoy the Virtual Art Show that Ms. Green put together in the links below. Our Woodland students worked really hard and they did a great job! All of the art was created while the students were in remote learning from September 2020 to February 2021.

5th Grade Clap Out
There are some changes that we need to implement in order to make this happen.
- We will be doing this outside on our walking path. Our TK-4th graders will be lined up along the path to cheer our 5th graders on while they walk.
- Each 5th grader may have as many family members as they want. THIS IS A CHANGE! Family members will need to park in the front and walk around to the playground gate in the back. Ms. Ivy will check you in and collect your tickets.
- Everyone must wear a mask, even if you are vaccinated, because our group will be over 100 people.
- The Clap Out will last about 10 minutes. You may stay to take a few pictures with friends or by our Woodland sign.
- We will need families to leave the playground and parking lot by 11:10am to avoid dismissal lines that may block you in. Families may choose to take their 5th grader home at this time (or out for ice cream!) by signing them out with Ms. Ivy at the playground gate.
We look forward to celebrating with you!
Chromebook Collection for the Summer
Chromebooks will be collected on the following dates. Our goal is that students will receive the same chromebook in the fall if they return. (5th grade chromebooks will become K chromebooks.) For your planning purposes, we will be collecting on the following days:
Monday, June 7th - In-seat Students - Students may begin bringing them in June 3rd and keep them in the classroom.
Thursday, June 10th (morning) - In-seat Students - Those that forgot on Monday.
Thursday, June 10th (afternoon) - Remote students (if they have another device they can use at home the following day).
Friday, June 11th (afternoon) - Remote students
On Monday, our in-seat students will come down as classes to the library to check them in. We check them in, just like the books.
Remote families will enter the Media Center doors to turn their computer into us.
Salsarita's/Oberweis Fundraiser
Woodland will receive 20% of all the proceeds!
Leadership Team - Cereal Drive
As a reward for collecting 1000+ boxes of cereal, the entire school enjoyed a pajama day last Friday. In-seat students received a classroom popsicle party and remote students received a ring pop in their Wednesday material pick up bag.
