Online Math Practice

This week your student will be bringing home a letter with information about our classroom's online math fact practice site, xtramath.org. It will contain class login information as well as your child's PIN for accessing his/her own personal account. If you have internet access at home, this is a great way to build math fact skills and have a good time, too!

Don't forget our field trip on Friday...

We are headed to the farm for all things fall-ish! It is also Camo Day, so come dressed ready to enjoy the fun!

First Grade is Learning Math Facts!

This week your student will bring home a bag of flashcards with our facts to the sum of 5. Please practice these facts for automatic recognition and speed, and send them back to school so we can add more cards! Building a solid foundation of memorized math facts, as well as understanding how we compose and decompose numbers, is essential for the development of math skills. Thank you for practicing at home!

Practicing Phonics Can Be Fun!

We had a great morning reading 'short a' words by playing a partner game. It was also a good time of practicing our cooperative learning skills.

Thank you

Thanks to all of you for coming to Parent/Teacher Conference Day to meet with me and discuss your student's progress in First Grade. It was a blessing to me to be able to visit with each of you. Your children are all individual and unique, and I am thankful to be their teacher.
