Gold (Au)

Gold (Au)
Gold is a yellow, shiny, dense, hard and sparkly metal. At room temperature gold would is a solid. It is used for coins, bullion's and jewellery.
What I found unusual about this element is that although gold is a heavy and dense metal, gold metal flakes may be eaten in food and drinks. Gold has also been discovered in every continent in the world. It is important to keep creating this element because it is the leading export for many countries, it also boosts up the economic success of these countries. Gold backs up many of the world's currencies and is universal. We should preserve this element because it is very rare and a precious metal which is very expensive. It is also hard to find which makes it unique and special.
Properties of Gold
Gold is very soft as is the most malleable and ductile of all metals. It doesn't form compounds and it doesn't rust or tarnish. Only a mixture containing hydroelectric acid
and nitrite acid, some cyanide solutions and mercury, will dissolve gold under surface
temperatures and pressures. It is a very dense metal which is one of the best heat and electricity conductors than most metals. There are 79 protons/electrons and 118 neutrons in gold.
