National Honor Society is Accepting Applications
The National Honor Society is currently accepting applications for new members for the 2021-2022 school year. Juniors and Seniors with a 3.500 or higher GPA are welcome to apply. Members that were inducted last year do NOT need to reapply and are still considered members for this coming school year. Application details can be found at: nhsbvw.weebly.com/2021application.html. All application materials are due September 10th at 4 p.m. Thank you!
Activity Passes
Activity Passes have not come in yet, but should arrive next week. If you or your family have purchased a pass, and you plan to attend a school activity, please provide your name at the gate and you will be let in.
Once passes arrive, they will be distributed to students during lunch hour. Family Passes may be picked up in the Main Office during school hours or afterschool until 3:30pm. To purchase a pass, please contact Ms. Lampson, the Bookkeeper, at 913-239-3707 or stop by the Main Office.
Yearbooks (2021 and 2022)
Order your student’s 2022 yearbook through ParentVue. The award-winning student-produced publication is nearly 400 pages of photos, stories and information. At a cost of only $55 it is a bargain.
Still need to pick up your 2021 yearbook? Beginning Aug. 23, students can stop by Room 233 to pick up their book.
S.A.F.E. Club (Seatbelts Are For Everyone)
Are you passionate about vehicle safety, especially seat belt safety? Do you need community service hours? Do you want to be a part of a fun club that promotes safety and gives out more than a thousand dollars of prizes to students every year? Then S.A.F.E. (Seatbelts Are For Everyone) might be for you!
It is a student run club that Officer Harrison and Officer Stock supervises. S.A.F.E. meets monthly or every other month depending on participation. S.A.F.E. club members will help get students to pledge to wear their seatbelts and deliver the raffle prizes. The other responsibilities include monthly outreach (in person, events, or putting together information in the Jaguar Journal or other source) and three times a year going out during arrival and collecting data on how many people you see wearing seatbelts and driving distracted. We also give out great prizes to the S.A.F.E. members as a thank you for helping out our BVW family!
Stop by the Police Office or stop Officer Harrison or Officer Stock in the hall to find out more information or to sign up!

Apply to become a Substitute at Blue Valley School District!
“How can I help?” It’s one of the most common questions we hear from our Blue Valley community these days and it is what makes our community so special: your willingness to lend a helping hand and provide support during difficult times. Our students need us now more than ever, and in order to support them in the best way possible, we need our community. We are currently looking for substitutes. If you have completed 60 college credits, you are eligible to apply for an emergency substitute license. If you are available one day a week, or even a couple days a month, consider applying to become a substitute. For more information, please contact Kaitlyn Drew at KMDrew@bluevalleyk12.org.

If you are looking to make a positive impact in your community and in the lives of our children, we encourage you to apply for one of these support opportunities in the district, or share this information with someone you think would be a good fit to join our team.
