Be Part of the Indian Trail Band!

2021-2022

Get ready to make music and have fun along the way!

We would like to invite your child to join our band here at Indian Trail Intermediate School!

Joining the beginning band program at Indian Trail will allow your child to be part of a unique learning experience. Students who choose to be part of the band program will become musicians and life-long music advocates.

Skills taught in band:

  • Reading music notation

  • Producing proper tone on a wind instrument

  • Performing as a member of an ensemble

  • Evaluating performances and problem-solving

Who can join band?

Any student at Indian Trail is welcome to join our program!

No prior experience playing an instrument or reading music is necessary. The only requirement for having a successful year in band is a daily commitment to give your personal best!

Students who participate in band become part of an ensemble, a musical team. The success of our ensemble depends on the contributions of every member.

Getting Started

Students will be able to test on each of the beginner instruments to determine the best instrument fit for each child. Following this process, there will be an information meeting for parents concerning how to obtain an instrument. Please do not buy or “choose” an instrument until you have attended the information meeting.

The instruments taught in beginning band are flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone and baritone. Saxophone, horn, tuba and percussion are taught in the second year of band to existing band members.

Instrument Demonstrations and Testimonials

Want to see more? Go to Be Part of the Band to see a demonstration on each of the instruments and testimonials from students and parents about the band experience!
