A Message from Mrs. Caudill

Over the last couple weeks I have had the pleasure to spend time in a number of classrooms, both virtually and in person. I have two big takeaways from my classroom visits. First, whether they are at home or at school, our students are joyful. Their excitement for learning is infectious. Secondly, our teachers have never worked harder. They are trying new things, thinking outside of the box and pushing themselves to make sure their students are successful.

Thank you for your continued partnership. As a school community we continue to to prove that we can do hard things. And sometimes, those hard things, become not so hard after all.

Stay well,

Devon Caudill

Amerman Fall Clean-Up

Life is unpredictable, and especially in these difficult times, we are not aware of what can happen even tomorrow. However, despite all the adversity, we would like to invite everyone to join us for the autumn clean up of our beautiful school grounds, which is taking place on Saturday, November, 7th at 9:00 am. It would be very helpful if you bring your own rakes, snips, pruners, brooms, etc. Masks will be required when we are unable to keep a 6 foot distance.

We all know, it is a very stressful time for all of us, however, many hands make our work easier, so we expect this to be done quickly, if we get enough help.

(A light “grab & go” snack will be provided)

Thank you in advance!!

November Focus: Responsible! Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind

Every month Amerman Focuses on a new theme and Leader in Me Habit of the Month. The focus for the month of October is Be Responsible and our Habit of the Month is Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind

Begin with the End in Mind means to begin each day, task, or project with a clear vision of your desired direction and destination, and then continue by flexing your proactive muscles to make things happen. One of the best ways to incorporate Habit 2 into your life is to develop a Personal Mission Statement. It focuses on what you want to be and do. It is your plan for success. Plan ahead and set some goals - begin with the end in mind.

If you would like to recognize your child for being proactive or using Habit 2: Be Begin with the End in Mind at home, please fill out the following Bobcat Boost and return it to your child's teacher.

Additionally, this year, on the back of the white envelopes being sent home, you will find our monthly Amerman Leader In Me calendar. We have included this as a resource for families to help bridge the home-school connection. Each month, you will see what habit is being taught, what personal trait in being highlighted, and conversation starters for you and your child. I have attached several pictures below for your convenience. You do not need to sign it each month but hope that it helps your child communicate how they are learning to live a balanced and healthy life inside and outside of school.
