Yesterday's retirement ceremony honored 65 individuals who have dedicated their lives to shaping young minds, instilling knowledge, and inspiring generations. These employees include teachers, clerical staff, instructional assistants, food servers, custodial staff, transportation staff, and many other vital positions within our district. I sincerely want to thank each retiree and their families for your commitment and dedication to our district. Your contributions have touched the lives of students, made indelible marks on your colleagues, and instilled a lasting impact on our community. Your expertise and knowledge have been invaluable, shaping the growth and success of countless students who have had the privilege of learning from you.
Please join me in congratulating all of our retirees! Let’s hear from some of our most precious stakeholders, our students, regarding their thoughts about retirement...

Coast to Coast Washington, D.C. Trip
The Washington D.C. trip was the second annual trip organized jointly by the California School Board Association (CSBA) and the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA). The purpose of this conference was to provide California school district leaders and Board members with an in-depth understanding of the workings of the federal government with regard to TK-12 education, as well as an opportunity to advocate for and foster meaningful discussions related to the needs of our TVUSD students.
The trip encompassed a diverse range of activities and engagements, allowing our four Board members and three cabinet members to meet with other district leaders and policymakers, including staff from both Congressman Darryl Issa's office and Congressman Ken Calvert's office.
Leaders from districts throughout California attended sessions and focused on four primary areas of advocacy: nutrition issues; special education funding; broadband and cybersecurity; and staffing challenges.
TVUSD student needs were well-represented at this remarkable experience for all!
RVHS Culture Festival
The RVHS students and staff participated in their annual Cultural Festival this past Wednesday.
Cultures from Africa, Polynesia, Europe, Latin America, Native America, and Asia were celebrated as RVHS teams set up booths and invited the entire school to participate. Food, music, and literature were highlighted and shared with the campus during the event. What a great way to celebrate the contributions and diversity of the different cultures around the world!
TVUSD Device Insurance
This message is intended for families with district-provided devices (iPads or Chromebooks).
As part of our district technology plan, we are excited to announce that students may retain their device for use throughout the summer if the device has been inspected and renewed for use through the 23/24 school year. Please note this device is eligible for insurance for $20 and you have until June 9, 2023, to purchase an insurance policy on this device for the 23/24 school year. After June 9th, insurance won't be offered again until after Labor Day (September 5, 2023), for returning students.
INSURANCE INFORMATION
Here’s a link to a flyer explaining more about what is covered by the insurance: Protect your School Device Insurance Information
Insurance coverage begins July 1 and ends June 30 each year. For example, if insurance was purchased anytime during the 22/23 school year, coverage will end on June 30, 2023 (or on the last day of summer school for those attending).
For continuous coverage, insurance will need to be renewed annually.
The insurance is only good for one device per year.
Once a claim has been filed, students are ineligible to purchase insurance again during the same school year.
If you don’t already have an account set up in ASB Works, you will need to create one in order to purchase the insurance. How to Create an account in ASBWorks.
