A CREATION OF THE FEDERAL RELIEF ACT
The Federal Emergency Relief Administration is the first to take action under the New Deal. Taking on the responsibilities of President Hoover's Emergency Relief Association, the FERA plans on distributing funds of $500 million to states through grants and loans.

- Provided help for the needy and unemployed.
- About 20 million unemployed people have now been hired.
- Created the Civil Works Administration (CWA) to help get people to work in 1933 and 1934.
- Unskilled women are now working in several different civil works project through the CWA.

Food Surplus Relief Corporation
Regulated the unbalanced relationship of food among the people by buying food from farmers and then distributing it to the hungry and poor.
