News and Notes

District teachers will be gathering at Hubble Middle School for the March 4th Institute Day from 830 AM to 330 PM. The focus for the day will be the New Generation Science Standards, or NGSS. Teachers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities that will build knowledge of the NGSS. Teachers will also have the opportunity to meet with their respective grade levels in the afternoon to further discuss what implementation will look like next year. A schedule of events/activities will be provided in the near future.

1st and 5th Grade:

The Think First Program will be taking place on Wednesday, February 24th. I am waiting for a confirmation on the exact times and I will share those once I receive word.

Plays by American Eagle Productions

On Thursday, February 18th, American Eagle Productions will be performing a play for our students. They will perform "Where the Sidewalk Ends" for our primary grades and "1776" for our intermediate grades. The K-2 performance will being at 945 AM and the 3-5 performance will take place at 145 PM. Both shows will take place in the MPR.

PARCC Testing

As communicated at the staff meeting, our PARCC testing window will be Monday, April 11th through Friday, April 22nd.

We will be looking at conducting one test per day during the testing window. We have a total of 7 tests to administer of the 10 day window. A tentative schedule will be provided after I meet with grades 3-5


FnP testing needs to be completed by March 1st.

K-2: All students need to be assessed

3-5: Students who are below level need to be assessed
