How did they start?
ISIS was originally part of Al Qaeda. They are radical Islamist's who were under the rule of Osama Bin Laden in the early 2000s. After a change in power and other groups beginning to arise, ISIS was started. ISIS was incognito until they gained enough people and resources to come out in 2013 and broke away from Al Qaeda.
About ISIS
ISIS is a radical Islamist group who currently controls a significant portion of land in the Middle East. ISIS was originally named AQI, but when they began to take over land in Syria and Iraq. ISIS stands for The Islamic State in Iraq and Greater Syria. With each new territory they are gaining, the stronger the group gets. They take over minority groups and either force them to join the group or die. They are responsible for deaths all across the world, including the plane crash victims and those in war torn countries in the Middle East.
