Animal Cell Organelle Functions/Structures
Nucleus: Located in the very middle protected by the nuclear membrane, controls the cell and stores the DNA.
Mitochondria: Rod shaped organelle that creates energy using cellular respiration.
Nuclear Membrane: Protects the nucleus.
Ribosomes: A very small organelle that produces proteins.
Endoplasmic Reticulum: Packages and transports proteins throughout the cell.
Golgi Body: Process and sort proteins for transportation.
Lysosome: Responsible for your metabolism and cell signaling.
Cytoplasm: Keeps the organelles of a cell afloat (jello like).
Vacuole: Storage for materials in the cell, small in an animal cell compared to a plant cell's vacuole.
