STAAR EOC Testing
STAAR EOC Testing will take place for 9th and 10th grade students this week.
Tuesday, April 10 - STAAR English 1 EOC and Thursday, April 12 - STAAR English 2 EOC
- Students are not allowed to have electronic devices in the testing room, this includes cell phones, e-readers and apple/smart watches. Students are also encouraged to bring a book with them on the day of testing to read once they are finished.
- If your child has an appointment on any of the testing days that affects him or her, please try to change the appointment. If a student does leave in the middle of a test, for any reason, the test may be submitted to be scored, and the student will be unable to make it up.
- Students should not attend school on a testing day if they are sick. Please follow the district guidelines for illness and keep your child home, if needed.
- We will have make-up testing days after each test for students who were absent the day of testing.
- All 9th and 10th grade students are expected to be in attendance both days. Students not taking the EOC will have an academic experience that is required and aligns with their English course. After all testing is complete, students will attend three shortened periods per day.
April 10th - 1st, 2nd,3rd
April 11th - Full length day
April 12th - 5th, 6th, 7th
- Campus will be closed to visitors on each testing day. Parents, this means if your student brings or you deliver their lunch, the lunch must be sent to school with your child. You will not be able to drop off lunches or other materials on these days. We know this may seem inconvenient, but it is essential that we provide a safe, secure, and quiet environment for all students who are testing.
- Students who are testing will have lunch in their testing areas. The cafeteria will be open for students to purchase their lunch if they did not bring their lunch. Students who are unable to bring a sack lunch will be walked to the cafeteria. They will return to their testing areas to eat their meals.
- All students that have classes/ are in athletics at the PWSH will not attend practices in the mornings of EOC testing. In the afternoon, only in season athletes will travel to PWSH. Tuesday they will travel after school and Thursday they will leave when 7th period begins. Students should touch base with their coach for any questions.
Adjustment to the Final Exam Waiver
This past week, the district has adjusted the number of days students can miss and have a waiver. Please see this link for the adjustments:
Parking Stickers & Students Driving to West for Athletics or Academic Reasons
Please remember as students begin driving this year, to park on campus all students must purchase a parking sticker. These can be obtained in the student center. Also, any student that drives to West for athletics or academic reason, must fill out a permission slip before they start commuting between campuses. If you have any questions about the student parking stickers, please see Lisa Morrison in the student center. Any questions about commuting to West, please see Coach Z.

PTSA Help for Casserole Day
Jasper Parents:
We need your help. The Jasper PTSA Teacher Treats Committee is putting together a Casserole Day. This is an opportunity to show our appreciation to the Jasper teachers and staff by providing them with a meal that they can take home to enjoy with their families by simply heating and serving.
We have arranged with Central Market to provide a choice of their delicious home-baked casseroles and salad for our faculty’s enjoyment for only $18.00 each. Tom Thumb is providing rolls and dessert for approximately $3.50 each. We would like to provide 120 meals and you can sponsor one or more using the link below to the Jasper PTSA Toolkit with a credit card payment of $21.50 by April 17th. The casseroles will be delivered to the school on April 20th.
Click here to place your casserole order.
We are excited about making this day a success. If you have any questions, please contact Amanda Rod and DeAnn Kotlarz at teachertreats@jasperptsa.org.
Thank you,
