Dress Code Reminders:
Burleson ISD has standard dress at every elementary. A copy of the "Standardized Dress Guidelines" may be found at the following:
- Burleson ISD website: www.burlesonisd.net
- Select Parents/Students menu from the top
- Select Standardized Dress Guidelines
- Or use this link: https://drive.google.com/a/bisdmail.net/folderview?id=0B7IJTBphx0IWSlc3SUlCU180Y0E&usp=sharing#
We are noticing that students are not wearing the appropriate type of shirt under their sweatshirts. If the student gets hot and they take the sweatshirt off, they are then out of dress code.
Socks and leggings with skirts and shorts are allowed, but they must be solid and in colors of navy, red, white, or black--no patterns.
Pants, skorts, skirts, shorts, and capris- can be docker style (no denim, jean styles, corduroy, painter/cargo style, or knit stretch).
Early Release Friday, February 12
Students will be released at 11:45, buses will run at release time. Pre-K will be a combined class from 7:45-10:45. ASP will operate as usual.
Student Holiday-Monday, February 15th
Norwood PTO:
PTO is currently doing World's Finest Chocolate Fundraiser and it ends February 23rd. If you have any questions, please call 817-245-3400.
The Parent Teacher organization is looking for volunteers to help with upcoming events: classroom parties, PTO fundraisers, and the PTO carnival in March.
If you would like to assist with any activities please contact Norwood PTO at NorwoodPTO@gmail.com
This organization does amazing things, but they can't do it alone. Please consider how you can help build a strong relationship between home and school.
Important Reminders
Help us Terminate Tardies
Morning arrival should occur by 7:30 to ensure a hot breakfast and no tardies (a school goal for Norwood!!!). Three tardies equal one unexcused absence.School Attendance
School attendance laws require students to attend 90% of the school year. Any student with 10 or more absences (excused or unexcused) will be reviewed by our Norwood attendance committee to ensure that make up time is not needed. Tardies add up to unexcused absences, three tardies make an absence.
Make up time for absences will be before and after school. If it is determined that a student must make up time, the family will be notified of the amount of time that must be made up for the student to receive credit for the year.
Counselor's Corner
We have 2 upcoming small groups for this spring:
1) Test Preparation - this is a 5-week small group for 3rd graders
2) Seven Habits of Happy Kids - this is a 7-week small group for grades K-5
If you would like more information on how to enroll your student in one of these small groups, please contact our school counselor at tboyd@bisdmail.net.
Stay tuned for opportunities for workshops for parents as well!
Thankful Thursday
