A Prayer For Charity God of mercy and compassion,
We praise you for your goodness. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Fill us with the spirit of loving service as we recognise in those we meet the face of Jesus your Son.
Through the generous work of our LifeLink welfare agencies, may burdens be lifted from the shoulders of your people, and may they feel the warmth of your kindness and love.
We ask this through Christ our Lord
From the Principal
Dear St Columba’s school community
Last week concluded with the much-anticipated Staff versus Year 6 students netball game at lunchtime. Thankfully, the staff redeemed themselves after the cricket game and claimed victory.
This week has been another busy week as teachers start to finalise learning programs ready for the Semester One Reports. I have also had the wonderful opportunity of meeting the next generation of St Columba’s students as I conduct Kindergarten interviews for 2023.
A big congratulations to our Year 4G class on making their First Holy Communion held on Trinity Sunday. The Mass on Sunday was lovely and a wonderful reflection on the commitment of our faith. Thank you to Miss Bechelli for working so beautifully with our students and to all the staff that contributed to this occasion.
Our Year 3 to 6 students participated in the wonderfully organised Cross Country on Tuesday. The students were cheered on by our Pre-Primary to Year 2 students as they ran the course around the school grounds. I was so impressed by the sportsmanship that was shown amongst the students, which complemented the competitive streak of some students. A big thank you to Mr Chatt for organising and facilitating this event for our students and to the parents who helped along the course. Good luck to those students that have been selected to represent our school at the CAPSS Cross Country Carnival in Week 10.
On Wednesday, Mrs Brine and myself had the privilege of accompanying some of our Student Leaders to the official launch of LifeLink Day 2021 held at Newman College, Churchlands. Through LifeLink, our students are encouraged to learn more about the real ‘need’ which exists in the community, and how our Church agencies, through LifeLink, respond to this need. Archbishop Timothy Costello spoke to the students about how God is calling us to be a Christ-centred Church in Australia that is joyful, hope-filled and shows servant leadership. To promote LifeLink and the wonderful work the various agencies do, classes will be researching how the agencies answer God’s call and then create digital presentations for our school community to watch. I am looking forward to seeing how creative our students are and what they find out about the various LifeLink agencies.
Another reminder to all about the school uniform. Please make sure that, as parents, you are aware of the expectations that the school has when it comes to uniforms, in particular nail polish and jewellery. Thank you for your support.
Next Tuesday, June 8 is our Catholic Day. This day is given to all staff members who work in a Catholic School, as a recognition of all the extra-curricular activities they do throughout the year for our students. The school will be closed on this day as staff enjoy a well-deserved break.
Wishing everyone a wonderful long weekend! Happy WA Day to you all!

We're having a Christmas Fair!
Planning is well underway for this year’s big fundraising event, "The Christmas Fair". There will be so much on offer, including market stalls, amusement rides, games, carnival food and a pop-up bar. Each class will be responsible for managing a stall, so please consider putting your hand up to help your year representatives who will be calling out for help both in the lead up and on the day.
Date: Sunday, 21 November 2021
Time: 11am - 4pm
Sponsorship Packages for the Fair
We currently seeking businesses who would be interested in receiving our fair sponsorship packages, for consideration. Businesses within the school will be offered the first chance to get on board and be a part of this fabulous event.
