Update to Our Spreckels Families
Message from Mrs. Scherpinski
As we move through these undefined times my effort will be to keep the communication lines open. I hope to hear from you and the students while we are all at home. I promise to share what information I have with you either through District email or my own. Later on today the teachers will be sharing resources with you for your students. We want to keep learning alive for our Spreckels Scholars. This is the hardest time I have experienced in my lifetime and I know it is difficult for all of you. We will get through this as strong people, families, and as a Spreckels Community. Please let me know if I can support you in any way.
I wish you health, safety, resilience, and love.
Please share this note with our students:
Even though I wish you were here at school I am glad you are home and safe with your families. Your teacher will be sharing some fun learning ideas with you soon. Look for an email from her/him. Until I see you back at school get some exercise, play games, draw pictures, read books, write some letters, solve puzzles, watch a good movie, build a castle, bake and cook, dance, learn something new, and always remember to be kind.
I will keep in touch. Please feel free to email me or send me pictures of this unexpected adventure.
I Love You All,
Dear 5th Graders,
Your teachers miss seeing you face-to-face, but we’re here thinking about all of the ways to keep you learning and growing. For now, enjoy time with your families, and contact us anytime (Remind, SeeSaw, Class DoJo, or email)! We are here for you and would love to see what you’re up to! Keep smiling; we look forward to when we’re all together again.
Your 5th grade teachers
Hello Fourth Grade Students and Parents,
We wanted to send you a little note to say “hi” and that we already miss your smiling faces. We know that you are in a safe place with your families and hope that you make the best out of this situation. We will be looking forward to seeing you when you return. Continue to spread kindness wherever you go, read when you can and be nice to your siblings.

Hello 3rd Grade Scholars!
We want you to know that we are thinking about you and we miss seeing your smiling faces here at school. Hi Second Graders!
We know it’s unusual for us not to be together on a Monday morning, but this is an opportunity to spend some time at home with your family. We want you to know that even though we are not together, we are thinking about you and working hard to make sure we can share ideas with you about how to keep your love of learning alive! We will be in touch in many different ways until we can be back together. Please feel free to reach out through Class Dojo to share what you’ve been up to or anything fun you’ve been doing! We look forward to seeing you!
Mrs. Mills, Mrs. Bunch, Mrs. Martin, & Mrs. O’Connell

Hi TK and Kinder Friends!
We wanted to take this time to reach out and say hello! We hope you are enjoying your time off with your families, playing games, watching movies, playing outside and showing your families everything you have learned. If you are missing us, you can write us a letter and we will write you back. We will send you our addresses. We miss you and hope to see you soon!
Love, Your Teachers
Hello Boys and Girls!
It is way too quiet in the library for a Monday morning! I never thought I would say it is too quiet in the library!
I already miss you guys. But all of this is being done for all of our safety so we can all get back together again soon.
While you are home you can continue to read and take your AR tests. If you have a hard time getting a book you could ask your parents to download one for you. Several neighborhoods now have the little outdoor libraries where you can also get a book.
Take care of yourselves!
See you soon!
Hello Spreckels Family,
Stay healthy and be happy! Read, play board games, cards, and get outside for fresh air if you can. We will see you soon!

Students may now access Accelerated Reader at home. They can test as they finish a book. We would like to see lots of Million Word Readers when we return to school. If you need help with passwords please email your child's teacher.
Please feel free to send pictures and emails from your students. It will make my day!
You can also contact me with questions, concerns, ideas, and for clarification.
