This year we will conduct course registration a bit differently than in the past due to COVID restrictions. We have put together a pre-recorded video with information on how to select courses for the 2021-2022 school year. Courses will be selected on a Google Form instead of input into Aeries, as in the past. Students must be signed into their OUSD accounts in order to submit their forms.

Any student with questions about their course selections will have the opportunity to meet with a counselor either in person or virtually. Appointments will not be made, students will attend any session during their assigned week.

** Meetings are optional, not required.

Financial Aid Assistance

The deadline to submit the FAFSA is approaching on March 2nd. Get your application in now! The Race to Submit is on. Let's do better than we did last year with submissions. The only way to get free money is to apply!

If you need assistance with completing your FAFSA/Dream Act, SCC can help- regardless of where you are attending next year for college. If you would like one on one assistance with completing your financial aid application, reach out to Griselda Morones to schedule an appointment.

Remember, tuition is FREE to all community colleges for ALL students, but ONLY if you fill out a financial aid application. To qualify for a Cal Grant, you must also complete an application. GPA's have already been submitted by VPHS on your behalf for the Cal Grant GPA.

Action For Happiness- Mindful March

Let's take the time to pause, breathe and really take in what's all around us. This month we're encouraging you to take some time to look within. Learning to be more mindful and aware can do wonders for our well-being in all areas of life - like the way we eat, the things we notice or our relationships. It helps us get in tune with our feelings and stops us dwelling on the past or worrying about the future - so we get more out of the day-to-day. It can also help us identify what we're grateful for, which has been proven to help boost your happiness levels!

Check out the Action for Happiness App. The app is like having a little personal action coach in your pocket who:

  • Gives you friendly 'nudges' with an action idea each day
  • Sends you inspiring messages to give you a boost
  • Helps you connect & share ideas with like-minded people
