News from Mrs Bethune
Hello all,
We are excited to have everyone at the school tonight for the Science and Learning Fair. The students work very hard to prepare their items to show all of you. Just a reminder the event runs from 5 to 7pm. Pizza will be served at 6pm for $2 per slice and drinks can be purchased for $1. There will be a raffle and all donations will be used for the Science Room curriculum items needed as well as Math manipulatives. This helps us so much and is such a fun event!
May Crowning will be at the 8am Mass on Tuesday, May 1st. Please join us if you are able. Students are welcome and encouraged to bring flowers that they can bring up to Mary. It is always a beautiful Mass and our Junior High Choir will be singing as well. We look forward to this wonderful Mass of celebration of our Blessed Virgin Mary.
May is here and that means next year registration packets are coming home this coming week. Please watch your child’s backpack for this information. It is important for us to get this paperwork and guarantee your spot for the upcoming year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the office. Thank you for your help with getting these forms back by Monday, May 14th.
Have a great weekend! Enjoy the beautiful weather!

Project Purple
Hello Band Family,
I have a favor to ask of you all that is related to the legacy of Mrs. Murphy.
As many of you know, I ran the New York City Marathon last November in honor of Karen. I participated as a charity runner for Project Purple. Project Purple is an organization that raises funds for pancreatic cancer research, as well as providing financial support for families dealing with this dreaded disease. Karen’s mom and a close uncle died of pancreatic cancer just months apart in 2004. Project Purple was near and dear to her heart. I am continuing my work with Project Purple in honor of Karen.
I was asked to assist in staffing a Project Purple water/aid station at the Lincoln Marathon on Sunday, May 6th. The location is Normal and South (this is on the marathon route, but not the half). The time commitment is 7:15am -12:30pm. You can choose to work the entire time or only a portion. If you are interested, send me your name and t-shirt size. T-shirts are not a sure thing but a possibility. My e-mail is: mike.murphy@piusx.net
I would like to make a special appeal to those students and families who were a part of Karen’s schools. I know there are many out there who loved her.
Thank you all very much!
Mr. Mike Murphy
