Success!
Most THS teachers successfully reached their tech goals for the 2nd six weeks. Many exceeded their stated goal. Remember, the only thing that is not ok is to flat line. If you want to delve deeper into your area from last six weeks, that is fine. Make sure to submit your technology reflection/goal by the end of the day Monday, November 13th.
Below are some ideas of things to consider if you would like to adopt a new goal for the next six weeks.
Ideas for 3rd Six Weeks Goal
Got PDF's? Try Go Formative (Instruction or Assessment)
Go Formative is a web application that allows you to convert PDF's into working documents in Google Classroom. Some teachers have students use DocHub for PDF's, but have reported that they are not very happy with the way it works. Go Formative allows you to add fields to a PDF for students to write in. As a bonus, it will import all your classes in G Classroom and even has a self-grading feature similar to Google Forms.
Let me know if you are interested in learning more and we can plan a session to play around with it.
Vocabulary Mastery (Instruction - Student Practice)
If your class includes a lot of academic vocabulary, Quizlet has some great tools to help students study those terms. The "learn" feature makes them correctly identify the definition or word at least three times before marking it as mastered.
Although there is a free version, we have some tech funds available for the teacher version. If you feel you are at a point you would like to upgrade, please let me know and I will see about getting you an account.
Connect! (Personal/Professional Use)
Another goal you could set for yourself is to connect with peers or content area mentors using social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.) for ideas on lessons. Emma Liles has shared some awesome ideas she has picked up from her virtual connections. 21st Century Learning isn't just something for students. Connecting with other teachers or leaders in your field can give you great ideas.
