Roosevelt Wildcat Weekly
August 20, 2021 Information for our Families
WELCOME WILDCATS!!
Greetings Wildcat Families,
Happy Friday! Thank you so much for an awesome first week! Our students came prepared and ready, and they have been engaging fully in their new classes as they acclimate to everyone being back on campus. They are following safety protocols and are already demonstrating their PRIDE as Wildcats. We appreciate their energy and enthusiasm!
We want to thank all of our families for your patience and flexibility as we all adjust to the arrival and dismissal traffic. Our campus supervisors are hard at work helping us smooth out some of our traffic flow, and our buses are working on their scheduling to ease the flow as well. Please continue to follow the direction of our supervisors so that they can help keep traffic moving. It always takes a week or two in the beginning of the year for everyone to find a rhythm.
Lastly, teachers and students focused this week on community, culture, and relationship building. Next week, administration and counseling will spend some time in Social Studies classes giving our "Pride Talks" to help our students understand our school wide expectations for behavior and ways that students can get involved in extracurricular activities.
Thank you again for an awesome first week!
Go, Wildcats!
RMS Administration
Thank you, RMS families, and students for coming to our ASB campus tour last Tuesday. It was great to see you all here! A great campus tour led by our amazing ASB students.

Communications & Protocol for Covid
As a school community, we need your help to ensure that we can safely keep students in school and minimize the number of quarantines we might need. If there is a family that is waiting on the results of COVID tests, please keep your student home until the results come in. If your student is not feeling well, please don't send them to school.
If there is an active case of Covid, on campus, during the 2021-22 school year then an email to the entire school community will be sent as a general notice.
If there is a student or adult who was a “Close Contact” of a person who is identified as Covid+ then we will send a notice to families in those classes about being exposed to a person who is a close contact of a Covid+ person.
If there is an active case of Covid, on campus, and your student was identified as being a Close Contact (defined as within 6' proximity for a cumulative 15 minutes in 24 hours) then you will be notified and your child will be Quarantined. The exception is if your child has been fully vaccinated (defined as 2 weeks post-final vaccination). Proof must be provided in this case.
If your child is quarantined, then they will receive support/connection with a VUSD Learning Support Teacher, via Zoom and email.
If your child is quarantined, they are to follow along in Canvas for their coursework.
If your child is fully vaccinated, they are NOT required to Quarantine at this time.
P.E. Uniform Distribution
Students will take home our syllabus over the weekend filled with important information regarding dressing out, purchasing PE clothes, and other PE policies.
PE will be distributing clothes Monday-Wednesday during PE classes and assigning lockers Thursday/Friday. To receive your P.E. clothes, please, bring your receipt on the distribution days.
